About the Cover: The father in Jesus’ parable is compassionate, not only to the prodigal son but also to the son who sulks in the shadows of bitterness. The father reminds him that all that he has is the son’s already. Our Father in heaven is ever compassionate toward us, no matter which lost son we think we are in the moment. We know this because He sent His own Son to take our reckless and bitter sin upon Himself on the cross in order to redeem and win us back.
